Infoglove implementation consists of
needs analysis, technical implementation and
training. Due to advanced software tools and ease of
user interface an Infoglove project takes usually only a
couple of weeks.
Needs analysis
This is not a "marathon session" where all necessary and
unnecessary reports are planned to the utmost detail.
Quite the contrary, detailed reports are not planned at
all! The most important task in needs analysis is
to decide what is the content and lowest level
of data granularity in the reporting database.
ETL process analysis
Extract-Transform-Load (ETL)
means loading data into the Infoglove database from an
external data source. Here you have to
decide how often reporting database is updated and which
data format to choose for the data transfer. Infoglove
is compatible with most of the common text file formats.
The physical transfer can be conducted e.g. by uploading
the data into an Infoglove
ftp-server.
Hardware and operating
environment
Infoglove software and database normally reside on
an Infoglove server administered by Infoglove Services
Oy. This is often the most cost-effective solution for a
customer. Naturally Infoglove can also be installed into
the
customer's own server.
Creating database
An
Infoglove database consultant creates the customer's
database according to the needs analysis. Infoglove
can semi-automatically create report frames that form
the basis for user created reports.
Training
Infoglove is easy to grasp. In most cases a good
reporting skill is achieved in one day's training.
Support
All Infoglove customers get free telephone and mail
support during business hours.
